Yonsei University Launches Student Delegation for 2025 Nobel Week

Yonsei University held a launch ceremony for the student delegation that will be sent to the “2025 Nobel Week” on November 24 in Underwood Hall. President Dong-Sup Yoon, key university administrators, and the student delegation attended the event to mark the beginning of the program.
This year’s program was organized based on the achievements of the pilot delegation sent in 2024 to commemorate alumna Han Kang’s Nobel Prize in Literature. For 2025, the university aims to establish a more systematic and sustainable international exchange model. Yonsei University expects the program to strengthen students’ global competency by allowing them to experience the world’s leading literary festival firsthand.
The delegation consists of students recommended by their deans from academic fields related to Nobel Prize categories such as literature, peace, and science, along with the chair of the student public relations ambassadors. By participating in the Nobel Week programs, students are expected to broaden their international perspective and enhance the university’s global competitiveness.
From December 7 to 11, the student delegation will travel to Stockholm, Sweden, to attend Nobel Week and take part in cultural and academic events including Nobel Week Lights. They will also visit the Nobel Museum and watch the Nobel Prize Award Ceremony in real time, gaining deeper insight into the significance of the Nobel Prize and the historical development of global literature and scholarship.
In addition, the delegation will visit major cultural institutions in Stockholm and engage with representatives from local universities and organizations. Yonsei University plans to use this program as a key model for future international exchange and field-based education initiatives, and the activities of the delegation will be showcased through various content on the university’s official social media channels.
