Application for the Yonsei International Writing Contest is available after logging in.
Yonsei University intends to collect and use personal information as stipulated below for the purpose of selecting and administering award-winning works for the 2025 「Yonsei International Writing Contest: “In Search of the Next Generation’s Han Kang”」. Please read the following carefully and indicate your consent and sign:
Item: Name, date of birth, contact number, email, address, and other information entered in the application form, as well as information provided by the participant Purpose of Collection/Use: Membership registration for the website, contest application, administration of processes including judging and announcement Retention Period: From the time this Consent to Provide/Use Personal Information is executed until the purpose of collection/use is achieved
※ The collected personal information will neither be used for purposes other than the foregoing nor be provided to third parties. ※ You have the right to refuse consent to the collection and use of personal information. If you do not consent, however, your eligibility to apply for the competition may be restricted, and you may be disadvantaged in the application and screening process. Pursuant to the Personal Information Protection Act and other applicable laws, I hereby consent to the provision and collection/use of my personal information as stated above.
This agreement stipulates the necessary provisions regarding the provision of works (essay, book review, short-form video) to the 2025 Yonsei Nobel Week–hosted Yonsei International Writing Contest: “In Search of the Next Generation’s Han Kang”」.
Manuscripts (essay, book review) or short-form videos provided by the participant to the 2025 「Yonsei International Writing Contest: “In Search of the Next Generation’s Han Kang”」
Exhibition and screening of award-winning works, reading at the awards ceremony, publication of winning works and production of promotional videos for the contest, post-event international contest reporting/promotion, etc.
I consent to the collection and use of the work (essay, book review, short-form video) provided to the 「Yonsei International Writing Contest: “In Search of the Next Generation’s Han Kang.”」
I have fully reviewed and clearly understood all matters related to this Work Collection and Use Agreement, and I consent to the use of my work.
As a participant submitting a work (essay, book review, short-form video) to the 「Yonsei International Writing Contest: “In Search of the Next Generation’s Han Kang”」, I hereby pledge that I have confirmed the following:
I confirm that all contents of the submitted application form, Consent to Provide and Collect/Use Personal Information, Work Collection and Use Agreement, and all related documents are true and accurate.
I confirm that the use of AI and ghostwriting is strictly prohibited in this contest.
I confirm that the submission is an original work, and that the manuscript and video (including music and images) do not infringe others’ copyrights or rights of publicity. If plagiarism or rights infringement is confirmed, the entry will be automatically disqualified, and all related legal and ethical responsibility rests with me as the entrant.
I confirm that the submission has not received prizes/awards in any other competition. If duplicate submission after winning is discovered, the award will be revoked and the prize money will be reclaimed.
I confirm that, for the purpose and public interest of this competition, the organizer may adapt, produce, and utilize the award-winning works as derivative works (including partial editing, modification, and adaptation).
I confirm that copyright to the submitted work initially belongs to the entrant; upon payment of the announced prize for winning entries, however, such payment is deemed fair consideration, and the organizer acquires the right to use the copyright (including rights of reproduction, public performance, exhibition, distribution, rental, etc.).
I confirm that all submitted works will not be returned.
I confirm that any disadvantage arising from failure to observe all of the provisions above is my sole responsibility as the participant. I also acknowledge that any disadvantage due to omissions or errors in the submitted documents likewise rests with me, and that all other matters are subject to the organizer’s decisions, and I will not raise objections to the judging results.
