International Writing Contest

“The 1st Yonsei International Writing Contest: In Search of the Next Generation’s Han Kang” is
an international creative platform established to honor Han Kang’s Nobel Prize win
and carry forward its spirit and values.
Teen and young adult participants will respond—through essays, book reviews, and short-form videos—
to the question posed by Han Kang’s literature, “Can the Past Help the Present?”
and to broader human concerns with their own creative works.

Through this competitive forum, the Yonsei International Writing Contest
offers young people worldwide a special opportunity to read Han Kang’s literature anew, interpret it in their own voices,
and—as the next generation of Han Kang—
exercise literary imagination and creativity.
