2025 Yonsei Nobel Week
International Symposium Overview

2025 Yonsei Nobel Week
International Literary Symposium Bridging Past and Present

Commemorating Han Kang’s Nobel Prize win in Literature,
this academic forum centers on the question “Can the Past Help the Present?”
and provides an opportunity to hear and engage with leading writers from around the world.

This international symposium features three writers
—Kamel Daoud, Naja Marie Aidt, and Wai Yee CHAN—
who have deeply explored universal human concerns as well as the pressing questions of our time.

It will be a special occasion to hear their insights and experiences
and to share perspectives with one another.

It will also be an opportunity to reexamine the messages raised
by Han Kang’s literature in an international context
and to consider possibilities for solidarity and understanding through literature.

Yonsei University hopes that this event will provide literary reflection
and creative inspiration to all participants both domestic and international,
and serve as a meaningful platform that builds the academic and cultural foundations
for the next generation carrying forward Han Kang’s spirit.
